Welcome back as well. still catching up on your old stuff for now
April 13th, 2010 on 3:59 pm
I’m working on getting archive feeds up soon. So if you don’t have all of the old episodes available, they will be ready soon.

Oh thank heavens! I’ve missed you guys!
The thing I most enjoyed about the old show was the actual play. I am not an adventurous gamer, and I’m cheap. Not about to go drop $100 on a game that I may never get to run, but if I can hear how a game runs (say like Colonial Gothic) I can be convinced that the game offers something.
(And I still want to hear Shaun (If I mis-spell it, have pity, I usually spell it Sion) punch out a t-rex

Been listening to the pod casts and you guys keep mentioning the forum but where are they?
April 14th, 2010 on 12:26 pm
Hey James,
The forums are gone for the moment. We’ve just recently changed the site so that things are more streamlined for us getting shows out. Forums is one of those things that hasn’t been set back up yet. We’ll definitely make an announcement here on the site and in the show when they are back.
Thanks,
David

I was not a big fan of the Actual Play Episodes. What I would recommend is a “highlight reel” version of a play session. The group records a review of the game with selected highlights from the Actual Play session cued up to illustrate a point. Akin to a talk radio format. Someone mentions the incident that happened during the play session, then a clip is played highlighting the host’s point.
I’m sort of typing off the top of my head, so the idea may hit several technological or time restrictions given more thought.
Just throwing it out there.

Editing is the big thing with a highlight reel. It’s time consuming, and unless we get someone who loves listening to the actual play show and pulling out clips, it’s just not going to happen. Though… with our new setup we should be able to have a feed for the show that doesn’t include the actual play shows. That way, if you don’t want them, you don’t have to download them.

Ah. Understood. Just a random thought.

Glad to see you guys are back. I have missed listening to the shows at work.
I know that you guys focus on games, but about focusing on gamers once in a while? There are plenty of organizations out there for gamers and sometimes we would like to know what each has to offer us so we don’t get in the wrong group.
Just something to think about.

I was delighted to see TGMS suddenly appear on my iPod. Looking forward to more actual play in Season 4!

I am a newish listener. I’m very interested in your Shadowrun game and hope the troubles at Catalyst Game Labs don’t undermine the great products they have.
My only advice would be listen to other successful pod casts and steal their ideas.
For example, 40K Radio has been doing a “Newbie Corner” segment where they describe what it takes to become a new 40K player. Don’t think you have to come up with completely new GM problems to tackle; many listeners may like to know how to take that first step to the other side of the GM screen.

im a brand new listener. I have been sitting in my class and listening. I plan to start my first campain with my friends in January 2011. its a star wars campian, 20d system. I would love some tips about running the game, and some ideas for adventures. I am very excited to listen to this podcast. I can already tell im gonna love it.

I, too, am a new listener. Looks like I have some catching up to do, but it’s no problem.
Any new games on right now? Or the next few weeks?

Me too – another new listener – Shadowrun game is the coolest – thanks. Brent
