This thread discusses the Content article: The Game Master Show Ep 56 (AP) Ninja Burger pt 1

So here we are, my GMing debut here on the The Game Master Show. As you can tell from listening to the episode I had a great deal of fun running Ninja Burger, and I hope that Mario, Dave, Dan, and Erin had fun playing in it. And of course I hope you all out there listening enjoy the players going that extra mile for the game, and me making a complete ass out of myself with the help of Dave. I look forward to hearing your critiques and opinions, so please leave your questions, comments, and verbal abuse.

I don't care if you aren't playing PTA... there is some serious Fanmail going around on this one...

Not exiting the car, just being outside it, "What? I'm a ninja!" - Loved it.

Throwing down the smoke bomb and still just standing there, but the car is gone. - Brilliant!

This episode had me laughing more than any other you have ever done. Don't think the game is really for me, but I sure as hell would watch a show based on it.

Well I'm certainly glad to hear that you were amused Dragavan. And I agree that Ninja Burger is certainly not for everyone, but for me it was a perfect way to decompress after running years of very serious games filled to the brim with drama. Keep listening, and I hope you find the second session just as enjoyable.

I too thought it was good fun. The game reminds me of Teenagers from outer space, which is an excellent game if you prepare and play it right.

I'm a good deal through and, so far, I'm kinda "Eh" about it -- it just seems unstructured... like half of the stuff is being made up on the fly (more than I would feel comfortable having made up) and that the rolls don't necessarily matter since the majority of things seemed to go the players way.

That's just me, though. Maybe for that style of play, I would've liked to have had a hard number on the rolls... let the players know that they needed X to succeed, Y for a grand success, and Z for an epic failure. Overall, I think I'm just a kind of person that would rather not roll for every single action or move I made in a game.
